Stolen Whiskey

The website for Stolen Whiskey is light on the details, but thankfully there ae plenty of sponsored reviews out there from the launch last year. It is a corn heavy mash from MGP that has been aged for 11 years in used bourbon barrels, afterwards it is given a secondary aging process for about one month with charred barrel staves, to give it a richer flavor and smokiness. It is 92 proof and typically around $35 a bottle.

This whiskey is super creamy and exceptionally smooth with a delicate smokiness and a heavy vanilla flavor. It really coats the mouth and has just a little burn. Drinking this is kind of like eating french vanilla ice cream with a little grown up kick. The secondary aging in the charred barrel gives it a slight finish of smoke but it is far more subtle than you would expect. This is a really pleasant whiskey to sip on, the kind you could sip all night, and would also be an approachable entry point for someone who doesn’t typically drink whiskey. It’s flavorful and approachable and priced very reasonably - especially for a whiskey with an 11 year age statement! Highly recommend.
