Characteristically barrel proof, with strong flavor and strong burn. Its too strong for me undiluted so I popped in an ice cube and waited a minute to temper the burn and open up the flavors. The scent starts nutty, fruity (maybe apples?), and alcoholic but dries out with a woodiness. As the ice cube melts the scent of sweet pecan gets stronger, sipping brings caramel pecan pie, a little spice, and oak, with plenty of alcoholic burn. There is some bitterness as you sip, and some apple flavors continue to come through in the middle, finishing with a toasted nut flavor, which is pretty delicious. Overall its a pretty tasty bourbon - but one I have to sip slowly and dilute a bit.
